Vietnamese lunar new year, Tet

I was invited to Mung's house who is one of my most excellent student for the lunar new year's dinner.

BANH CHUNG, Vietnamese Steamed Cake, is the most important new year's dish, which is made from glutinous rice, mung cake, pork and other ingredients.  It is like Japanese Mochi.

Another important Vietnamese food is NEM RAN, Minced Pork Roll, is a popular dish in Vietnamese cuisine, which include minced pork, rice vermicelli , egg, pepper, green onion, and carrots. It is rolled with rice paper and deep flied.

Fresh Spring Roll include boiled shrimp, fresh herbs, lettuce, sometimes fresh garlic chives, rice vermicelli, all wrapped in moistened rice paper, served cold with dipping sauce. It is really delicious.
